The Deep Blue are an emerging indie-pop outfit from the Central Coast of NSW. The self-produced four-piece have carved out their own little section of the Australian pop market due to the infectious, melody driven sensibility that is their music and a savvy social media presence. The band aim to write music that can be sound tracked to a particular moment, or can evoke a sense of nostalgia/familiarity upon a first listen. In attempt to transport the listener to an idealistic environment, it effectively creates a yearning for an era or time that they may have no real recollection of at all.
Although their music is delivered in an up-beat, hooky manner, the songs remain catchy and clever whilst going deeper than what the surface shows. The Deep Blue’s music is topped with an intellectual, sophisticated lyrical subject which can be found in influential acts to the band such as Gang of Youths, The 1975 & INXS.
