Marc Hannaford New York Trio
Highly regarded as one of Australia's most exciting improvising pianists, pianist Marc Hannaford combines elements of 20th century music, rhythm and meter to create multi-faceted and energetic contemporary improvised music.
Based in New York since receiving his 2013 Freedman Fellowship, Marc Hannaford has been busy establishing an international career and has become recognised for original compositions that are “complex, cerebral, intricate, and swing mightily” (John McBeath, The Australian).
This performance is part of Hannaford’s 2019 national tour.
This concert is presented with the support of the Freedman Foundation and The Music Trust.
This project has been assisted by the Australian Government through the Australia Council, its arts funding and advisory body.
