Local Sydney band WICKED ENVY make their triumphant return to the scene!
Experience a night of Anieszka’s smooth and ethereal vocals as she shares the songs from her new EP ‘Elixir’ for the very first time.
Anieszka is a 25 year old Mauritian/Australian alt-R&B/soul artist. She has been living and breathing music since the age of 2 and at 15, released a self-titled EP. In the years that followed, she performed in over five different countries, co-hosted radio shows in Australia and Mauritius and defined what she wanted to say through her music.
‘Grow’, a song to inspire, was the first release off the upcoming EP ‘Elixir’. A year in the making, Anieszka is ready and excited to share what she has written. Working with producers from the Dominican Republic, the UK and Australia, each song is authentic and breaks down genre and writing barriers often placed on artists. ‘Elixir’ is a body of work that holds true to its name and was created with the intention to connect and heal.

Melbourne cabaret star Sophie deLightful (“One of the best voices in Australian cabaret” - Miss Friby) returns to Sydney with her most personal, raw work to date, "Anatomy of a Power Pussy".
This show will be the third Power Pussies production to visit Sydney, and will no doubt continue to pack the room as did its predecessors. It is part of the Power Pussy series Miss deLightful launched in February 2017 in Melbourne, which has also travelled to Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide/Melbourne Fringe festivals, and had reviewers singing her praises (see reviews below).
An exploration of life as a Power Pussy, it will feature real-life stories from the deLightfully sassy bombshell herself, with inspiration from her community of fierce felines. Her signature powerhouse vocals will entice, inspire and excite with heartfelt interpretations and reworkings of classic and modern songs. A sprinkling of the best in local cabaret talent will cap off a night of unforgettable entertainment.
The show will challenge perception and encourage thoughts, tackling issues close to deLightful's heart including life as a queer, love as a performer and loss… as a human. Being a Power Pussy is about connecting yourself with that feminine sexuality within all of us, that empowering energy that challenges us to be the fiercest versions of ourselves.

Singer-songwriter Cassandra Kubinski makes her Australian debut with her elegantly emotive pop, which Billy Joel calls "very similar to the singer/songwriters of the late 70's...transcendent."
She is currently on a tour taking her through France, Romania, Thailand, Malaysia, and Australia, and is thrilled to count The Newsagency among her stops.
Cassandra’s songs unearth bare truths within herself and within society, shattering shackling perceptions, and offering forth an exhilarating message of liberation. Her lyrics share lessons from journeys in love, loss, feminism, ambition, sexuality, nature, and self-growth. Her body of work spans three full-length albums, one double-live album, and two EPs. Select standout entries in Cassandra’s oeuvre include the pop-soul inflected “You Never Told Me,” the enlightening Autism anthem “Not So Different,” and the sweetly jaunty “You Get Me.” Each of these tracks is themed around a cause dear to Cassandra’s heart and paired with a video created to further the song’s impact and reach.
Cassandra has had the unique distinction of having recorded and released songs with Billy Joel, The Goo Goo Dolls, Grammy Award-winning trumpeter Chris Botti, and 10,000 Maniacs’ pop singer/multi-instrumentalist Mary Ramsey. Her latest release, the holiday EP, Holiday Magic, debuted at #46 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart and received national airplay on over 25 radio stations. In addition, Cassandra has also built a robust profile in Hollywood as a songwriter. She’s earned prime licensing placements in Lifetime’s wildly successful show Dance Moms, which to date has featured 13 of her tunes, and she’s had songs featured on NBC, E! News, and ESPN’S First Take. She is also the bandleader of 2-time Emmy nominated live streaming show The Never Settle Show, hosted by Mario Armstrong. As pop artist with a purpose, she’s an outspoken contributor to, and supporter of, such causes as Autism, Susan G Komen’s Relay for Life, and women’s empowerment, particularly in her role as Global Co-Chair of Membership for Women in Music. “Billie is the real deal” -Jenny Morris
“I love what Billie does”-Jill Scott
Billie McCarthy has always been too much. Too fat, too opinionated or too passionate. In her award winning cabaret “Billie McCarthy Takes Up Space’ Billie tells the story of her journey from precocious fat kid to unsure young woman to bad boss bitch. Part kick in the guts, part goodnight kiss this show is funny, acerbic, confessional, no holds barred truth. Billie pulls no punches talking about the pitfalls of modern dating, her very unconventional upbringing, overcoming deep trauma and negotiating the world as an outspoken, unabashed fat woman.
As one of Sydney’s most in demand singers, Billie has performed all over Australia and the world with NGAIIRE, OMAR, CHET FAKER, TUKA and PAUL MAC among others at events such as Java Soul Nation Festival (Indonesia), Groovin' The Moo, Sakifo (Reunion Island), Bluesfest, Brisbane Festival, CMJ (New York), Listen Out, Splendour In The Grass, Culture Collide (Los Angeles) and Sydney Festival…and now she’s bringing all that experience home to tell her tale.
Billie is a country girl who took the jazz bus to the city and had a dirty love affair in a back lane with neo soul. Singing her original Australian music (with some overseas flavor) this show traverses musical genres with ease. Hold on for the ride and Billie will help you see the world for how it really is.
Accompanied by the prodigious talents of Andrew Bruce and Nick Meredith this is a story that is determined to take, up, space!
